Me Made May 2020 is over and I had a great time seeing everyone’s outfits everyday and following along with your pledges. My pledge was to document my outfit every day to analyse what I actually wear right now so I can focus on adding these garments to my wardrobe. My big focus was finding tops and bottoms that matched and I think I have made some real progress with this.

Trousers
There were definitely some favourite bottoms during the month- my Pietra trousers in navy linen look viscose, Monsal lounge pants in navy fleece back sweatshirting and Black linen look viscose Pietra shorts.

This tells me one clear thing- I want high waists and lightweight, comfortable fabrics. I will definitely be making the Pietra trousers and shorts again, but I also want to try out a few other styles.

I will try the Helens Closet Arden pants next, and would also like to try the Paper Theory Miller trousers. I have a few more pairs of Safiya trousers planned too.
Tops
In terms of tops there are a few favourites here too. I wore my Friday Pattern Company Square neck tops a few times each, and wore all of my Paper Theory Kabuki tees too.

I finished my Sew Over It Libby shirt and I love the options I have for styling it. I also wore a ready to wear shirt, so I will definitely be adding a few more shirts to my wardrobe (but no more Libby’s!).

Dresses
I am also missing summery dresses. I have a lot of dresses that I feel are more autumn/winter fabrics and colours. So I have been looking for some bright coloured fabric and have a few fabrics in my stash that will be perfect.

What I didn’t wear…
So the obvious things I didn’t wear are my winter garments (hoodies, jumpers, winter dresses). There were a few summer items I didn’t reach for though, a few dresses and all my skirts. I think my focus on figuring out what separates work for me and in particular trousers and shorts had me avoiding this garments. And I definitely need more summer dresses! Last summer I was still breastfeeding Emily so avoided making too many dresses.

In conclusion…
I am so happy with the outcome of my me made may pledge and I think I really have evaluated what I am wearing right now and what I want to wear right now. We had a good range of weather too (good old Irish weather 😂) so I have a good idea of outfits and garments I will need to take me through our changeable Irish summers.
How did you get on with your me made may pledge? I hope it was successful too.
Sharlene xx
